You are either on dope or a fool! Alternatives are indeed needed but we ain't gonna see them in our lifetime because of the sheer magnitude of the task. Get real fool! Drill for oil and get our prices low and give the energy companies a real incentive to move towards a coordinated energy plan that makes sense. All you are doing now is waving our hands and most of us know you do not have a clue!
